	We will be having light fitness training and technical skills on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm at Larkfield. U16 and above with Don and Under 13 to Under 9 with Frank. We will do this over the summer until we move to full fitness training prior to the start of the season.

	A defeat to Bec but with some very good performances. Debuts in the cup for some talented under 16s, Hannah, Bexy, Emma and Owen. Strong performance from James Patching and the whole team. Davesh Patel score 5 with excellent under pressure shooting. Tom Brady came on during the 2nd half and scored 3 very well taken goals and the dangerous Karen Sparrow in fine form. Very good match which we thoroughly enjoyed. Good luck to Bec in the next round.

	would just like to say how well you all played yesterday in the game and how pleased I was with the team performance. Everyone gave 100% all of the time in defence and attack, this was a great result for the squad and something to build on for the future. We have a tough match against Bec next Sunday. SEERL is proving to be very competitive with close scores across the Division so far, with Invicta looking strong after their impressive win in Norfolk a few weeks ago.

	Not the best start for Bearsted in the SEERL going down 11-5 to Cambridge Tigers. Good individual displays from everyone. Everyone is very keen to build upon this poor start, which was disaapointing to all concerned. Next week the Cup matches against Bec 3, dangerous opponents on last year`s form and Nottingham Magic who we havn`t played before will make for an interesting round. 	Bearsted are the new U14 Cup Winners. At the prestigious event held at Bromley, with teams from Norwich, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, London and Kent. Bearsted were narrow winners by 2-1 in a very exciting final against a superb Tornadoes team.

06/04/2009	Youth Talent Cup	Bearsted youth represent England at Youth Talent Cup	Bearsted
	Three of our Under 16 girls (Virginia Richards, Bexy Fitch and Emma Sackett) represented England this weekend in the Youth Talent World Cup in Eindhoven. Every one of them made us proud. They played 4 games on Saturday, beating South Africa 14-3; Czech Republic 11-8 and Team Triangle 7-4. Their only defeat of the day was against Netherlands. Sunday proved to be just as successful with a 10-0 win over Slovakia that took them into the semi-finals against Belgium. Belgium were the biggest contenders for a final place alongside the Dutch. The semi-final was amazing as England were 7-6 behind with 2 mins left. Josh Lloyd from Tornadoes managed to convert a longshot with only 1 min left on the clock to equalise. The Belgians were then attacking, only to have it intercepted and returned to the England attacking end. With only 3 seconds left on the clock, Tom Northfield (Cambridge Tigers) scored the winning goal from a rebound. What an achievement for our three girls to be involved in the most successful result ever for an England squad. They met the Netherlands in the final and lost, however, the match against the Belgians was their final and we are extremely proud.

	Another good match for Colts. After staying level with Canterbury Tails for the first part of the game, Colts took the lead and a succession of goals took them to a 6 - 3 victory and currently puts them in second place of Division 2. Well done.

	Another strong fight back from Colts resulted in a 7 - 7 draw with Vortex. After being one or two goals down throughout the first half and dropping to 7 - 4 in the second half, a succession of late goals and some excellent defending saw the match finish level at 7 all! Well played everyone.

	The Reserves started well scoring 2 goals in quick succession then going into a 3-0 lead. Canterbury fought back bringing the final score to 5-2. An enjoyable game to watch with good defence and great teamwork. - Well done everyone.

	A very close game was played by Colts yesterday when they took on Canterbury Reserves. Starting with the first goal, Colts took an early lead, but then Canterbury equalised and took the lead. Two goals by Colts, in quick succesddion, saw the game at 5 - 5 at half time. Colts then led for most of the second half but with minutes to go the score was again level at 8 - 8. Another Colts goal saw them win the match 9 - 8. Well played everyone!!!

	Bearsted 1 were able to grab a win against a very well organised and highly competitive Highbury team. Down 5-2 at half time after some excellent attacking by Highbury Bearsted had a hard struggle to get back into the game only taking the lead with a few minutes to go. The winning goal, came right at the death. Good fightback, but we must feel some sympathy for Highbury for their very good play, especially in the first half. Final score 12-11.

	Karl Sieber will be joining Bearsted from Kingfisher. Karl will be a very welcome addition to Bearsted. Teaming up with former teamate Rachel Worseter with whom he played at Kwiek over five seasons. Karl a Guiness World Record Holder with Kingfisher KC with whom he still has a very close affinity and excellent realtionship and many friends. We look forward to working with Karl and his experience with Kwiek and Kingfisher will prove to be important to the growth of Bearsted.

	Jordan Lown wlll be leaving Bearsted. Jordan`s contribution to Bearsted has been outstanding. Winners of the National U16 Competituon, National League Division 1, KKA winners of the IIA in Belgium. Jordan has been a significant part of the youth development programme at Bearsted and has shown maturity beyond his years in every department. 	SAmmy Bedord is leaving Bearsted to join Kingfisher. Sammy was elected as the prestigious KKA Young Player of the Year for her outstanding performance in her debut year in the National League with some outstanding performances and also with the EKA U16 Squad and of course with Bearsted`s National U16 Championship winning squad and the outstanding contribution to the KKA U16 Squad, winners of the IIA in Belgium. Sammy`s contribution to Bearsted has been outstanding and we wish her well at Kingfsher.

	A good day for Bearsted. Missing the very talented group at the YTC, Chris, Ash, Tom, Megan and Katie came into the side and had very good games, showing the real strength of our squad and the hard work everyone has put in. A big thanks to Tigers. A very competitive match played in a wonderful spirt, not forgetting the superb contribution from referee Nigel Townsend. A very good day for Bearsted and underscroing the hard work of everyone involved with the club to make this such a good season, on and off the pitch. Nicky, Linda and today Jane have organised things so well, keeping me on track. The whole squad have worked very hard, improved week on week and have played in some memorable, close matches. With lots of exceptional young talent coming through. All in all a very good year for Bearsted.

	Kat Smith celebrated her birthday in real style today - scoring 3 very well taken goals. Happy Birthday Kat. For our U13s another first class team performance, going 2 behind from excellent Ollie Woodhams scores, it looked like it wasn`t going to be our day. Everyone just upped their game and played really well and Azi, Megan and Jane were really pleased with how well everyone did. Two teams make a game and Tornadoes are not League Leaders by accident. They have a really good side and can just blow the opposition away at times. Good day for Under 13 Korfball

	Bearsted were the runners-up at the National Championships for Under 13 teams, losing out to our great friends and rivals Kingfisher in a very tight final. All the team played exceptionally well throughout the day and as a team, but just couldn`t get that final win, running out of steam towards the end of a very long day. Strong all round performances, playing some of the best korfball of the season, with some great goals, with some really good shooting, especially the half-way line hat-trick from "Hotshot" Sackett. A good day overall and well-done to all the players.

	Finally a win - had a good bit of luck with Supernova playing very well and racing off to a 6-1 advantage in a short space of time. Good fightback to go in trailing by 7-6 at half time. Good second half for us as we started to take a bit of control - but even then Supernova had chances and 14-11 a good result for us under the circumstances. Very good performances from our very young squad

	An exciting finish to a game that was categorized by mistakes from both teams. Bearsted didn`t have enough time to get back into the match, but more experience for a very young squad. Under 16s B had an excellent match in the afternoon against Tornadoes 2 and played extremely well throughout. This match marked the return of Megan Jones from injury after a 9 month layoff. She came through the game fine

	Great match against Kingfisher in the "Derby". Kingfisher very strong in all departments played extremely well, with Bearsted staying in touch throughout the first half and into the early part of the second. Kingfisher then hit an excellent purple patch to take them away from the youngers of Bearsted to win comfortably 19-11. A tough introduction for Bearsted`s young team, nevetheless some strong performances to build on.

	Details of the Mutual Civil Liabilities Insurance cover for the coming season are now available on the BKA website. The following information is provided by the BKA with regard to insurance cover for 2007/08. The renewal premium for the year commencing 31 August, 2007 has been paid by the BKA, and National Associations, Area Associations and clubs are requested to make the appropriate payment (see below) to the BKA and forward this to David Hubbard at 3 Mill Lane, Blue Bell Hill, Chatham, Kent ME5 9RB at the earliest convenience. Clubs with one team only £60.00 Clubs with more than one team, National Associations and Area Associations £100.00 The policy has been provided, through Perkins Slade Limited, by Royal and Sun Alliance and Insuresport Mutual Ltd (the latter being a mutual company sponsored by CCPR) and provides cover for legal liability under the Civil law to the general public and members of the insured for personal injury or damage to property caused by the activities of National Associations, Area Associations, clubs, members and coaches. This includes liability arising out of advice (eg tuition and coaching), libel and slander and member-to-member cover. The premiums requested for the coming year are down on last year due to the credit carried over from last year, which accrued as a result of the additional clubs and Associations formed during last year, for which the BKA has not been retrospectively charged. National Associations, Area Associations and clubs are reminded that they should advise David Hubbard of every incident involving personal injury as soon as possible so that the insurance brokers may be notified". 	Korfball School of Excellence Skills workshop for junior players 24th August 2007 The Korfball School of Excellence will be running a one day skills workshop aimed at young players aged 6 – 14 at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Friday 24th August 2007 The workshop will run from 0900 to 1700 and will focus on the core Korfball technical skills, Evading, Marking, Passing & Catching and Shooting. The Korfball School of Excellence summer course is an intensive residential course that takes place at Crystal Palace each year and the skills workshop, which provides an excellent introduction to the SOE programme, takes place the day after the end of the main course which this years has attracted over 31 young players from around the country and abroad. The cost of the one day skills workshop is £25 which includes lunch at the centre. The course will be run by SOE and national squad coaches Steve Barker and Peter Teague who will be assisted by a number of SOE qualified assistant coaches to ensure a coach to player ratio of 4/5 – 1 throughout the day. Players will also receive a certificate of attendance. The SOE programme has played an important role in the development of many of the talented young players involved in the national junior squads and its methods continue to prove extremely effective Places on the skills workshop will be limited and anyone interested in taking part should contact Steve Barker as soon as possible.

	The event will take place on The Green, Bearsted on 3rd September 2007 between 10.00-15.00hrs. All advertising for this day will be organized by us at no cost to you or your club. This is a free day. All you have to do is come along and promote your club and have fun. There will be an arena for each of you to the young one`s to have a go at your sport/activity. We are looking at giving you at least 10-15mins in the arena twice in the day. You don`t have to you could just do something by the side of your gazebo.

	Big thank you to the teams, managers, coaches and supporters of the teams at the Kent Cup Finals. Some excellent matches, where all of our teams played well. The U16s were our only winners, narrowly defeating an excellent Kngfisher team. The Under 9s played a great game and but just couldn`t overcome Tornadoes. Rams also had a very good match against a much improved UKC team. The Under 13s played yet another good match against a very good Tornadoes team, narrowly losing out at the end. The Under 16s had another tremendous match against Kingfisher, who for much of the game created some very good chances, which they just failed to convert. We were able to pinch the match at the end with a very well controlled attack. Another outstanding squad performance.

	Congratulations to our U-16`s who successfully beat West London Wildcats to earn a place in this year`s National Championship`s final. It was such an exciting match and an outstanding performance. Well done. The dates for the qualifying round for other age groups is on the BKA web site. They are as follows: U-11`s Saturday, 20th January - London U9`s & U-13`s Saturday, 10th February - London The venues are yet to be decided but we will let you know as soon as we know.
